Mrs. Van Wagoner is so excited to be joining the fantastic faculty at Foothills. She’ll be teaching 4th grade, D-Track. She has been teaching for 20 years in 5th grade and 6th grade, so she is looking forward to a new grade. She has 3 children, all married and 6 beautiful grandchildren. She adores her cat and her cat loves her back. She is a local gal, lived in Utah all her life. She graduated from Murray High School, Dixie State College with an AS, USU with her BS and University of Phoenix with her MAED/CI (Masters in education – curriculum and instruction). Some of her favorites are: color – navy blue, food – mac & cheese, steak dinner, and Fettuccini Alfredo, fast-foods – Five Guys, Chick Fil A & Ice Berg, restaurants – Brick Oven, Texas Road House and Geckos. As you may have guested, she is not a huge fan of cooking now that they are empty nesters. When she was a child, she enjoyed school. She liked to read and write stories. Her 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Vernon, was her favorite, but she also loved Mr. Miles, her 6th grade teacher. She likes reading stories about “Pippi Longstocking” (then she’d pretend to be her). She loved listening to stories her teachers read to her. As an adult, her reading loves span many genres – fantasy/science fiction, historical fiction, adventures and mysteries. One of her all-time favorites is “True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle” by Avi. That is a very short history of her. But wait …. Here is something you really need to know –she drinks Diet Coke daily, peanut clusters are a favorite treat as are brownies and cookies, her stress snack is Ruffles Potato Chips, and she loves Lady Bugs!
