Dawn Opie » Faculty/Staff

Mrs. Opie graduated from the University of Utah with an elementary education degree.  She went on later to get her masters from Western Governors University in technology. She has taught at Foothills since the school opened in 2003 and is a proud Mustang through and through!  Mrs. Opie taught 5th grade for 15 years and is now teaching 6th grade. Mrs. Opie believes that all children deserve the best everyday and deserve to be encouraged to reach their highest potential!  When Mrs. Opie is not in school she enjoys spending time with her family. She has a husband, a daughter, and, a son. Most of her out of school time is spent volunteering in community sports programs, such as Oquirrh Mountain Girls Softball, or being a team mom for Herriman Youth Football and Herriman Youth Baseball.  She also enjoys volunteering at South Mountain Community Church. She loves making her students laugh and making fun of herself is usually how that happens!
