Lily (Hui Hui) Chi
Biography
HuiHui Lily Chi (Mrs. Chi) was born and raised in Taiwan. After she married, she lived in Hawaii for 5 years with her husband. Then Taiwan for 5 years and then Kentucky for 12 years. She moved to Utah 3 years ago. She has three children (Sarah, Scott and Spencer) all studying at BYU – Provo. Two of them will graduate this year. She has an education degree from Taiwan Teacher School an accounting degree from Indiana State University. She used to teach Kindergarten and elementary aged students in Taiwan for nine years, then she stayed home with her own children until they all graduated from high school. Afterwards she returned to the workplace as an accountant before returning to teaching. This is her third-year teaching DLI fifth grade at Foothills. She has passion in teaching and really enjoys it. She believes that every student is like a flower that blooms in different seasons, and the teacher is like a gardener. Each child has their own individual way of learning. Her job as a teacher is to provide a safe, happy and stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and meet their full potential. Her goal for this year will be to help her students continue to increase their love and confidence towards learning Chinese.
